or secret formula it's just a question of understanding how people

I hear this every day from
people who get a lot of "hits" to their web site -
"nobody buys anything from me".
The first question I ask is
"What do you do to build trust with your customers?"
The
answer is normally nothing. When I look at their web site I see the
problem straight away.
No place to capture potential customers email
address and generally a site that has a "click here to buy
button".
No real information just some nice pictures and a button
- Please buy my products.
I'm afraid that is
probably not going to cut it these days. It might work well for the
big well known companies but not for the small guys.
People need to know
who they are dealing with. After all you have no problem handing
over your credit card to well known companies but people have to be damn
careful when dealing with smaller companies.
You could be the biggest scammer
on the planet for all they know!
What you must do is provide
great information about your products and services. Provide a
solution to people's problems and ask them to join your mailing list.
If you contact them regularly with a little newsletter offering some
discount, they get to know you, and you will have
no problem selling anything to them in the future.
It is not necessary to
give your clients "the hard sell" in your newsletter either.
In fact do the opposite, keep it short, give them some fun and
interesting titbits and they will stick with you forever. Once you
build that trust they will be eating out of your hand.
What does it take to use the Net
successfully?
It's really not complicated but
most businesses don't get it...
Deliver good products or services that
people need or want ie give potential customers quality
information... build sites that sell/PREsell... attract targeted
traffic cost-effectively. Capture email addresses and FOLLOW UP by
producing regular newsletters. Do that... and you'll beat
larger, high-profile companies.

"Businesses that
don't start to embrace this technology will be out of Business
altogether"
