Don't Just Build A
Web Site - Build A Web Business Instead!

a FACT that
most of these these sites will NEVER be seen so they will NEVER
bring in new customers or sell
anything".
Actually, if you
have one of these "brochure" sites you could be
doing serious damage to your company!

Just teach him how to use a piece of
software, press a button and bingo instant web site.
There's a problem though.. A website is supposed to make you money and
bring more business to you. It's doubtful if the Monkey would be able to do
that so in many respects it's a waste of time teaching him. You would gain little or no benefit from your web site.

A "brochure" site is one of
those sites that has been thrown up with content like this (Yawn)...

A brochure site
can ruin
you business credibility. Design a web site like that and it actually shows people
how serious you take your business. There are many occasions where people
will NOT do business with someone because their site looks very
"amateur" and does not install any trust.
Would you hand
your credit card details over to someone that has a web site that
looks like it was built by a primary school student?
Consider this
carefully. You think nothing of spending a bit of money and taking a
lot of care designing your newspaper adverts and your flyers. You
should take even more care when you design a web site because more people are
going to see it and judge you by it!

A web site for any
business in an investment
and should be treated as such. If
you design a web site properly it can bring in an enormous benefit in terms of new business
and contacts.
How come then..
..do so many people put their trust in
their son or daughter, they let them design a web site without any planning then
wonder how they never make any sales.
I ask you - and please be honest about
this...
If you have got
one of those "brochure" web sites how much EXTRA business
does it bring in? How many targeted visitors do you get and how many
people buy from you?
If business is great and people are
flocking to your site then great you are doing the right thing and you
probably don't need any advice from me.
However if your "brochure"
web site is not doing anything for your business (or you are just
thinking about putting a web site up) you might like to read on and find

now have an email address. For most small businesses those are your
major target market.
After all, if you are an electrician or
a plumber. You are hardly likely to fly to Paris or New York to get
work. But half of your local community are
online so these are your target
markets and there is a vast amount of business there for
everyone.
If you are a local contractor or

web site to market to people in your local community you'll never
look back. We all read e-mail don't we!
So why do so many web sites get
classified as a "brochure" and never sell a thing...
Simple really..
The site is not visually appealing. The
site does not deliver good products or services that people need or want ie give
potential customers quality information... the sites have not
been build to sell/PREsell...
the sites don't attract targeted traffic, or capture email addresses and
the site owners don't FOLLOW UP by
producing regular newsletters.
Design a web site that does all that... and
you'll beat
larger, high-profile companies.
